Way back in June we installed the first of two large underground stormwater retention systems, underneath the driveway. We had to hold off installing the second system in the front yard until the construction trailer was removed and we were finished with most of the major landscaping in back, so that heavy equipment wouldn’t have to travel over the structure. So now the system is installed, similar to the other one, and ready to capture runoff from the hardscape, gutters, and driveway grate. The rainwater will run into the drainage system and collect in the gravel beds, and then gradually leach into the soil to help replenish the aquifer.
