We reached another big milestone this week with the delivery of our kitchen cabinetry. Our cabinet manufacturer, Herrick & White in Cumberland, RI, brought up the cabinets Wednesday and immediately got started with installation. H&W was able to accommodate our specific requirements for using only low-VOC certified materials in the cabinet bodies and veneers, as we strive to build a home that is free of harmful compounds in all its interior materials and finishes.

The kitchen, which the architect designed with some input from a local professional chef, will be both functional and spectacular.  It will include: two Wolf 30” ovens (one convection with steam), a breakfast bar with Insta-hot and microwave, a 48” Sub-Zero side-by-side fridge & freezer, a Wolf 48” 6-burner gas rangetop with infrared griddle, a two-burner electric induction cooktop, two ASKO dishwashers (one in the pantry), a 30” warming drawer, and two glass-front dual-zone wine and beverage fridges.  It has been great to work with our friends at Yale Appliance to assemble this true “chef’s kitchen.”
